Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to deliver P&C and physical design for a major Southern California electric utility project. You will prepare one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and BOMs under the Substation Design Manager while coordinating with clients and the project team.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5–8 years of substation design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in substation design or similar with utility or consulting firm.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs substation P&C and/or physical design, including drawings, specifications, and estimates.
• QA/QC review of designs submitted by junior engineers.
• Prepares CAD drawings with neatness and minimal errors.
• Performs electrical load, conduit, bus sizing, and grounding analyses.
• Ensures designs conform to client and industry standards.
• Communicates and coordinates with project manager, client, and others.
