Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking an Associate Substation Engineer to join our team in the Southwest region to support a major electric utility client. You will design substation deliverables, including general arrangement drawings, equipment plans, conduit and grounding layouts, and BOMs, under senior engineer guidance.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET) and 1–3 years of substation design experience, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 1–3 years of substation design experience with utility or consulting firm.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform substation physical design including drawings and BOM.
• Prepare CAD drawings with accuracy and minimal errors.
• Develop calculations for conduit, bus sizing, lighting, grounding.
• Ensure designs meet client and industry standards.
• Coordinate with senior engineers and project managers.
• Support site meetings and respond to RFIs during construction.
