Job summary

Qualus seeks a Senior Substation Engineer to lead design of high‑voltage substations, mentor junior engineers, and deliver code‑compliant, reliable solutions from concept through construction.

You will collaborate with clients and multi‑disciplinary teams while upholding safety and quality. The role may be remote from anywhere in the U.S., with preferred hybrid arrangements near office locations in UT, TN, KS, TX, NC, NV, MA, FL, MS.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• Significant experience in substation physical design.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design power utility substations to applicable codes and standards.
• Create general arrangement, equipment layouts, grounding, routes, bill of materials.
• Develop ground grids, lightning protection, and conductor layouts.
• Produce equipment specifications and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
