Job summary

Qualus Corporation is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer in our Engineering department to design and detail mat and pier foundations for substation structures, and to design various substation structures from supports to overhead towers.

The role involves applying codes and client standards, preparing layouts, elevations, grading, fence plans, and bills of material, while maintaining QA/QC practices across projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
• 8–10 years of civil structural engineering calculations experience.
• 7+ years of substation experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Professional Engineer certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects.
• Design foundations using LPILE and develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
• Perform QA/QC processes and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Lead client meetings and site visits to collect and deliver design data.
• Mentor less experienced staff on technical and project management skills.
• Establish and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
