Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to design mat and pier foundations for substations and to develop substation structures including overhead line towers. You will apply client standards, QA/QC practices, and project cost controls while coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities include developing conceptual designs, using software like LPILE, and mentoring junior staff. Experience in transmission, distribution, and generation is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• 8–10 years civil structural experience on substations.
• PE license or ability to obtain PE

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design plans in early project phase.
• Design foundations and steel structures for substations.
• Prepare elevation, layout, and details with QA/QC.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and clients in meetings.
• Mentor junior staff on technical and PM skills.
• Support schedules and cost estimates with clients.
