Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our Commercial & Industrial team. You will lead design efforts for mat and pier foundations, grading, fencing, and structural details for substation projects that power communities and critical infrastructure.

You will mentor staff, oversee QA/QC, and provide technical leadership across all project phases from concept through construction and commissioning. This role emphasizes independent work and client-facing collaboration.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of civil structural engineering calculations experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with MicroStation.
• Experience with substation and data center projects.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to select appropriate software.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of conceptual design in early project phases.
• Support data center clients with scheduling and cost estimates.
• Design foundations using software like LPILE and related tools.
• Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
• Perform QA/QC processes and ensure technical quality.
