Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our Commercial & Industrial team, supporting mat and pier foundations, grading, fencing, and structure details for substations.

You will provide technical leadership across multiple clients, mentor staff, and collaborate with data center projects, while leveraging AutoCAD, MicroStation, and power systems tools to deliver designs with quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of civil structural engineering calculations.
• AutoCAD proficiency; MicroStation a plus.
• Experience with substation and data center projects.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.
• 5 years of AutoCAD experience.
• 5 years using ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Strong communication skills for client discussions.
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and support to conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects.
• Work with data center clients with support specific to schedules and cost estimates.
• Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE.
• Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
• Perform company’s QA/QC processes.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with external partners; present information and respond to questions from clients.
• Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
• Mentor less experienced staff on technical and project management skills.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
