Job summary

BKF is a multi-service infrastructure firm seeking a Senior Construction Manager/Project Engineer with a California P.E. license. The role oversees complex bridge and structure projects, with field inspection, contract administration, and coordination with clients and agencies.

Requires a BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, 7+ years’ relevant experience, and CALTRANS familiarity. Expect travel to BKF locations and client sites; competitive salary and strong benefits package are

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction methods and CALTRANS standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with staff, contractors, and agency personnel.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• Strong engineering calculations and concepts.
• Able to evaluate project issues and changes.

Responsibilities

• Provides independent analysis of technical submittals and drawings.
• Reviews change orders, submittals, shop drawings, and materials testing.
• Performs construction engineering for bridges, retaining walls, and related structures.
• Coordinates with inspectors and project team to meet goals.
• Executes field inspection and contract administration; prepares daily reports.
• Manages staff and contract administration in project absence of RE.
• Monitors contractor schedules and maintains records.
• Dominant point of contact with clients and approving agencies.
• Assists with recruitment and performance evaluations.
• Supports claims and avoidance strategies.
