Job summary

Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable AISC Certified Structural Steel Fabricator in the Durham-Raleigh, NC area on their search for an Estimator to focus on work in the commercial sector working in a team to put together estimates ranging in value up to $60M+.

As a Project Estimator, your main responsibility will be to compile estimates for the cost of work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

Qualifications

• 2-year tech degree or HS diploma+1 year steel estimating experience
• Bachelor’s in Construction/Engineering preferred
• 3+ years estimating for reputable steel fabricators
• Bluebeam, Tekla, Word and Excel experience preferred
• Structural steel fabrication experience
• Computer skills and ability to analyze numbers
• Knowledge of AISC standards

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, requirements and specifications
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
• Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost
• Determine costs of labor, material and equipment
• Push evolution of construction documents as necessary
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
• Submit requisitions for purchase of materials
• Compare competitive specialists and materials
