Tiello partners with a reputable AISC Certified Structural Steel Fabricator in the Durham-Raleigh, NC area to hire an Estimator for commercial sector work on projects up to $60M+.

The Project Estimator will compile estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related docs, calculating labor, material, equipment, and time requirements to determine total project cost and duration.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or diploma with related estimating experience required.
• Bachelor degree in Construction, Engineering or applied studies preferred.
• 3+ years estimating for steel fabricators is expected.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Propose value engineering to reduce costs.
• Determine costs of labor, materials, and equipment.
• Keep construction documents updated.

Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable AISC Certified Structural Steel Fabricator in the Durham-Raleigh, NC area on their search for an Estimator to focus on work in the commercial sector working in a team to put together estimates ranging in value up to $60M+.

As a Project Estimator, your main responsibility will be to compile estimates for the cost of work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Included in this will be the estimation of labor, material, equipment, and time requirements in order to compute the overall cost and duration of the project.

Job Title: Estimator (Structural Steel Fabrication)

Project Types: Data Centers, Healthcare, Schools/Education, Office Buildings

Key Responsibilities:

Perform all responsibilities of a Project Estimator including but not limited to the following:

• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
• Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost
• Determine costs of labor, material, and equipment
• Push the evolution of the construction documents as necessary
• Prepare conceptual estimates
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
• Submit requisitions for the purchase of materials
• Compare competitive specialist and material

Skills & Qualifications:

• At least a 2-year technical degree or high school diploma/equivalent + one year of relevant structural steel estimating experience
• Prefer: 4 year Bachelor Degree in Construction, Engineering OR applied Engineering studies
• 3+ years Estimating projects for reputable steel fabricators
• Bluebeam, Tekla, Word, and Excel software experience preferred
• Structural Steel Fabrication Experience
• Computer skills and experience analyzing numbers
• Knowledge of AISC standards
