Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert in the Data Center team to lead structural engineering across a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You will set technical direction and ensure performance and constructability.

The role is heavily client-facing, requiring collaboration across diverse teams, with opportunities to mentor and grow leadership presence while guiding design delivery and the Design-Build approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer with ability to become registered in additional states
• Knowledge of CAD software and structural analysis tools
• Understanding of Building Codes and design standards
• Ability to travel 10–40% to client sites
• Experience communicating with executives and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across a portfolio of data center projects
• Coordinate with structural teams and clients to guide design deliverables
• Mentor junior and senior staff and foster technical leadership
• Oversee calculations, material takeoffs, and schedules with governance on design documentation
• Support Design-Build delivery methodology and project execution
