Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior subject matter expert to lead structural engineering for a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You will guide technical direction, ensure performance and constructability, and partner with clients and contractors across diverse teams.

You will mentor teams, influence design strategies, and contribute to delivery excellence while expanding your leadership presence in a high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering
• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer; ability to become registered in additional states
• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, S3D)
• Experience with structural analysis tools (RISA, RamSS, STAAD)
• Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and applicable design codes
• Willingness to travel 10–40% to client sites

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across data center projects
• Mentor junior and senior staff; coordinate with clients and management
• Develop and validate advanced structural models; set modeling standards
• Oversee calculations, takeoffs, and design documentation
• Ensure designs are code-compliant, robust, and constructible
