Jacobs is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert in the Data Center team to lead structural engineering across a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits.
The role blends technical authority with strong client-facing leadership, mentoring staff, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure high-performance, constructible designs and robust delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
- 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer with ability to become registered in additional states.
- Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation) and structural analysis tools (RISA, RamSS, STAAD).
- Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7 and related design codes and standards.
- Proficiency with MS Office and remote coordination tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering efforts across a portfolio of data center projects.
- Provide quality reviews of complex projects and supervise design delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior and senior staff; communicate with clients and upper management.
- Shape project execution, influence design strategy, and ensure code-compliant solutions.
- Support and govern schedules, documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination.
