McMillen, Inc. seeks a Senior Structural Managing Engineer to lead diverse water resources projects, guiding design from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 18+ years of experience in civil, and/or hydraulic engineering.
• Professional Engineering registration is required (California PE preferred).
• Experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery projects, water conveyance, storm water networks, water treatment, wastewater treatment and pump stations.
• Familiarity with Federal Agency codes and requirements (FERC, USACE, USBR).
• Regular, predictable attendance is required.
• Ability to get along and work effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain client relationships; participate in professional service organizations and conferences.
• Identify project opportunities, pursue proposals, and plan strategies for water resource needs.
• Conduct kickoff meetings with key stakeholders and review the overall project plan.
• Identify high-level risks, assumptions, and constraints using historical data and expert judgment.
• Manage changes to scope, schedule, and costs to keep the project plan accurate and approved.
• Set expectations in accordance with the Project Plan to align stakeholders and team members.
• Effectively manage multi-discipline teams for water resources projects.
• Measure project performance and communicate variances to stakeholders.
• Execute tasks as defined in the project plan to achieve goals.
• Define roles and responsibilities to create a project organization structure and communication plan.
• Mitigate risks with approved actions and workarounds.
• Improve team performance by leading, mentoring, and training.
• Evaluate and design water infrastructure projects; familiarity with treatment facilities and distribution/conveyance.
• Develop detailed designs, plans, and specifications for infrastructure projects including pipelines and pump stations.
• Prepare or oversee planning reports, plans and cost estimates for water, recycled water and wastewater projects.
• Manage planning, design and construction support services for water and wastewater projects.
• Design storm water management systems for water quality and quantity control.
• Prepare drainage, erosion and sediment control plans, and related construction plans.
