Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer with 5–10 years of experience focused on water resource work. The candidate will work on dams, hydropower, fisheries, and other civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include design documentation, FEA, drafting, and construction support, with mentorship to staff. Travel to project sites up to 15% is required; this employee-owned firm offers diverse opportunities and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• P.E. or P.Eng. licensure a plus.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure (fishery projects, hydropower, dams, water conveyance).
• Experience with FEA modeling software for linear and nonlinear analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Design Documentation Reports, Technical Memorandums and other technical reports.
• Evaluate and apply advanced structural design techniques and criteria.
• Perform structural computations by hand and with design software.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand or CAD.
• Edit specifications and assist with Project Manual preparation.
• Support construction phase with submittal reviews and site inspections.
• Develop FEA models and present results to clients clearly.
• Mentor other engineering staff and manage design support services.
• Analyze field data and as-built plans to assess existing conditions.
