Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering in the United States is seeking a Project Engineer II (SPE) to drive structural design from concepts through construction. You’ll perform analyses, develop plans, review calculations, and mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians while coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The role is salaried, with a base range of $93,000–$110,042, dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably with building structures.
• PE license preferred or in progress.
• Proficiency in Revit, RISA, ETABS, SAP, RAM.
• Strong understanding of building codes and construction methods.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to project leadership.
• Excellent communication skills with client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural design and analysis using Revit, RISA, ETABS, SAP, and RAM.
• Prepare and review structural plans, specifications, and calculations with precision.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for compliance with design and safety standards.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to align designs with project goals.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians, providing technical guidance.
• Participate in client calls and meetings, offering technical input.
• Contribute to project budgeting, planning, and scheduling with engineering input.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, materials, and design criteria for compliant deliverables.
• Maintain organized records of design decisions and calculations.
