Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer II (SPE) to support and manage the structural design process from concept through construction. You’ll work with Project Managers, lead portions of the design, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure deliverables meet design intent and codes.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, engage in client calls, and assist with budgeting, scheduling, and planning.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• PE license preferred or in progress.
• Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, RISA, ETABS, SAP, and RAM.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction methods.
• Excellent communication and client coordination skills.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed structural analysis and design using Revit, Rhino, RISA, ETABS, SAP, and RAM.
• Prepare structural plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with architects, clients, and municipal agencies to align structural solutions with project goals.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and BIM technicians on technical tasks and best practices.
• Participate in client calls and meetings, providing technical input and contributing to project discussions.
• Support Project Managers with budgeting, scheduling, and project planning.
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency across all deliverables.
