Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a senior structural engineer to drive production readiness for the GS2 hardware, balancing performance, manufacturability, and reliability across multiple build sites.

You will lead cross-functional investigations, guide design-for-manufacture decisions, and own MRB dispositions for complex nonconformances, working with design, analysis, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure safe, producible spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering and 10+ years in aerospace structures.
  • Extensive experience producing metallic aerospace structures on factory floors.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design, FEA, load paths, and margins.
  • MRB authority with experience in nonconformance dispositions, repairs, and rework.
  • Proven collaboration with weld, machining, assembly, and NDE teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Guide structural configuration and design decisions balancing performance and producibility.
  • Own and drive engineering change proposals from concept to implementation.
  • Serve as technical authority for production support across build sites.
  • Lead rapid response to production issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Chair MRB for GS2 hardware and disposition complex nonconformances.
  • Lead cross-functional investigations to resolve recurring defects.
  • Develop and track production health metrics and improvement plans.
  • Mentor engineers and set standards for documentation and communication.
