Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead GS2 hardware producibility and reliability from design through production. You will guide structural configuration, drive changes for manufacturability, and act as the technical authority for production across multiple sites.

Expect cross-functional problem solving, data‑driven improvements, and mentorship of other engineers. You will own complex issues, lead root-cause analyses, and support major build and test milestones with a focus

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering or related field; typically 10+ years in aerospace structures.
• Experience with production of large metallic aerospace structures on the factory floor.
• Strong understanding of structures, loads, margins, and tolerances.
• Proven MRB or equivalent authority for nonconformances, repairs, and rework.

Responsibilities

• Guide structural configuration and interface decisions balancing performance and producibility.
• Drive engineering changes for manufacturability and cost reduction across GS2 hardware.
• Serve as technical authority for production support across multiple sites and shifts.
• Lead rapid root-cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Chair MRB and dispose of complex nonconformances ensuring safety margins.
• Lead structural assessments for repairs, rework, and use-as-is dispositions.
• Coordinate cross-functional investigations to mitigate defects and risks.
• Own production health metrics and drive data-driven improvements.
• Promote design-for-manufacturability and design-for-test with upstream teams.
• Develop repairs, rework instructions, and standard manuals; ensure repeatability.
• Optimize build sequences, tooling, and inspection plans with shop leadership.
• Prepare for major build/test milestones and support anomaly resolution.
