Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a California-licensed Structural Engineer (SE) to lead seismic and performance-based design for vertical building projects across California. You will mentor teams, act as Engineer of Record, and drive technical excellence within Jacobs’ structural practice nationwide.

The role is hybrid, requiring regular office presence and California travel for client meetings and project activities.

Qualifications

• California SE and PE licenses required or in process.
• 10+ years of vertical-building structural design/analysis experience.
• Experience as Engineer of Record and technical lead on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural analysis, design, evaluation and rehab of complex buildings.
• Act as Engineer of Record for major projects through all phases.
• Prepare calculations, specs, reports and construction docs.
• Mentor engineers and designers, uphold technical excellence.
• Collaborate with architects, owners and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support client development, pursuits and proposals.
• Lead seismic engineering, performance-based design and resiliency initiatives.
• Perform advanced linear and nonlinear analyses with industry tools.
• Lead ASCE 41 seismic evaluations and retrofit designs.
