Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a California-licensed Structural Engineer (SE) with a strong track record in seismic and performance-based design to lead complex vertical-building projects across California. Qualifications

• California Structural Engineer license required.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Master of Science in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience focused on vertical building projects.
• Experience as Engineer of Record and technical lead for complex projects.
• Proficiency with CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and California seismic requirements.
• Experience with performance-based seismic design, nonlinear analysis, ASCE 41 evaluations, seismic retrofit, and existing building assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural analysis, design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of complex building projects.
• Act as Engineer of Record for major building projects through planning, design, construction, and project delivery.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Mentor engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence.
• Collaborate with architects, owners, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support client development, pursuits, proposals, and technical presentations.
• Serve as a technical leader for seismic engineering, performance-based design, and resiliency initiatives.
• Perform advanced linear and nonlinear analysis using industry-leading tools.
• Lead ASCE 41 seismic evaluations and retrofit designs.
