Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a California-licensed Structural Engineer (SE) with strong seismic design and advanced structural analysis skills to lead complex vertical-building projects. This hybrid role involves mentoring teams, acting as Engineer of Record, and coordinating with architects and clients across California.

You will influence Jacobs’ seismic practice and contribute to standards, while traveling for client meetings and project activities throughout the state.

Qualifications

• Licensed CA PE required with proven track record in seismic design.
• 10+ years of vertical-building structural engineering experience.
• Experience as Engineer of Record and technical lead on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI and California seismic requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural analysis, design, evaluation and rehab of complex building projects.
• Act as Engineer of Record for major projects through planning, design, construction and delivery.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports and construction documents.
• Mentor engineers and designers to promote technical excellence.
• Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support client development, pursuits and technical presentations.
