Jacobs is seeking a California-licensed Structural Engineer (SE) to lead seismic engineering and complex vertical-building projects across California. The role offers leadership duties, mentorship, and opportunities to influence Jacobs’ structural practice regionally.

Hybrid position requiring regular office attendance in California and travel for client meetings, pursuits, and project activities. You’ll advance technical standards and support development of engineers while delivering

Qualifications

Licensed California Structural Engineer (SE) license.
California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10+ years of structural engineering experience focused on vertical building projects.
Experience as Engineer of Record and technical lead for complex projects.
Proficient with CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI.
Proficient with ETABS, SAP2000, PERFORM-3D, RAM, SAFE.

Responsibilities

Lead structural analysis, design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of complex building projects.
Act as Engineer of Record for major building projects through planning, design, construction, and project delivery.
Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
Mentor engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence.
Collaborate with architects, owners, and multidisciplinary teams.
Support client development, pursuits, proposals, and technical presentations.
Serve as a technical leader for seismic engineering, performance-based design, and resiliency initiatives.
Perform advanced linear and nonlinear analysis using industry-leading tools.
Lead ASCE 41 seismic evaluations and retrofit designs.
