Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a California-licensed Structural Engineer (SE) with a track record of seismic engineering, advanced analysis, and facility resiliency for vertical buildings. The role offers leadership of complex projects, mentoring, and shaping Jacobs’ structural practice across California and the Western United States.

The position is hybrid, requiring regular office presence and travel within California for client meetings and project activities.

Qualifications

Requires California Structural Engineer license and California PE license.
Master of Science in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
10+ years of structural engineering experience focused on vertical buildings.

Responsibilities

Lead structural analysis, design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of complex building projects.
Act as Engineer of Record for major building projects through planning, design, construction and delivery.
Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports and construction documents.
Mentor engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence.
Collaborate with architects, owners and multidisciplinary teams.
Support client development, pursuits, proposals and technical presentations.
Lead seismic engineering, performance-based design and resiliency initiatives.
Perform advanced linear and nonlinear analysis using industry-leading tools.
Lead ASCE 41 seismic evaluations and retrofit designs.
