Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in California seeks a California-licensed Structural Engineer (SE) with a proven track record in seismic design, advanced structural analysis, and facility resiliency for vertical buildings.

You will lead complex projects, serve as Engineer of Record, and mentor teams across California and the Western United States. The role is hybrid with regular in-office collaboration and travel across California for client meetings, pursuits, and project activities, offering

Qualifications

• California PE license required
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience on vertical building projects
• Experience as Engineer of Record and technical lead for complex projects
• Expertise in CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and California seismic requirements
• Experience with performance-based seismic design, nonlinear analysis, ASCE 41 evaluations, seismic retrofit
• Proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000, PERFORM-3D, RAM, SAFE or similar platforms

Responsibilities

• Lead structural analysis, design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of complex building projects.
• Act as Engineer of Record for major building projects through planning, design, construction, and project delivery.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Mentor engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence.
• Collaborate with architects, owners, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support client development, pursuits, proposals, and technical presentations.
• Serve as a technical leader for seismic engineering, performance-based design, and resiliency initiatives.
• Perform advanced linear and nonlinear analysis using industry-leading tools.
• Lead ASCE 41 seismic evaluations and retrofit designs.
