Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Vancouver, WA to lead design efforts and act as project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects. The role emphasizes seismic experience for commercial work and west coast retrofit initiatives, with up to 20% travel and 100% employee ownership.

Full-time in-office position with sponsorship not available, and opportunities to mentor staff and grow client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Structural Engineer (SE) license and/or SE exam required
• 7 years of experience minimum, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
• Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path
• Adept in technical aspects of the discipline and design standards
• Strong communication and ability to mentor and lead teams
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects ranging in size and complexity
• Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes, proposal fees, and contract reviews
• Create project schedules with milestones and deadlines
• Serve as main point of contact for teams and clients
• Create monthly billings and manage financial projections
• Ensure designs follow owner/IMEG standards and code requirements
• Lead design coordination and progress meetings across design phases
• Conduct site visits, address client concerns, and manage change orders
• Mentor, train, and motivate staff
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Uphold ethical and professional standards
