Job summary

IMEG Corporation invites applications for a Structural Engineering Intern in Vancouver, WA for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist a team of engineers with analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems on real projects, under mentorship.

The internship is paid, with structured mentorship and potential full-time opportunities. Expect involvement in seismic and resilience-focused work within a 100% employee-owned firm, with hands-on learning from day one.

Qualifications

• Two or more years toward a BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required.
• Strong interest in design consulting and building design processes.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Research resources for projects and compile data.
• Support client relations, documenting design decisions and project records.
• Coordinate design and scheduling with architecture, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier partners.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions; monitor progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations as required by contract services.
