Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to advance carbon-free energy projects. You will join a team of engineers, design and analyze structures for SMRs, ARTs, and nuclear plants, and mentor junior staff.

This hybrid role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of experience, proficiency in STAAD/SAP2000/ANSYS, and knowledge of ASCE7, AISC, and ACI. You will prepare designs, review calculations, and travel for site reviews.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years on project teams designing/analysing structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software: STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Knowledge of ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and concrete/steel design.
• Work on a wide range of projects for various clients.
• Prepare and review design calculations, develop specs/reports, and support drawing development.
• Mentor others in the development of engineering deliverables.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, and foundations.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site verification.
