Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer in structural engineering to guide a team on projects for nuclear facilities and upgrades. You will interface with clients and cross-disciplinary engineers, reviewing calculations and developing structural designs for steel frames, reinforced concrete, and foundations.

You will mentor engineers, manage design reviews, and travel to client sites or vendor offices as needed, applying ASCE 7, AISC, and other standards while delivering high-quality,

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Ten or more years of experience in design and analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS
• Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• PE or SE license

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of structural engineers and interface with other disciplines and clients
• Prepare, review, and guide design calculations and specifications for drawings
• Oversee structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations
• Travel to client and vendor offices or plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination
