Job summary

AFRY USA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Alabama to lead multi-disciplinary teams on industrial projects. This role requires strong design, analysis, and coordination with mechanical, process, and electrical disciplines, with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.

The candidate should have a PE license (SE preferred), 10+ years of experience, and proficiency in Revit, BIM, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of Structural Engineering experience
• Licensed PE (SE preferred)
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC)
• Revit, BIM and Microsoft Office proficiency

Responsibilities

• Lead as principal engineer for projects with accountability for quality, budget, and schedule across multiple stages
• Assist in proposal development and scope definition for new projects
• Define project scope, budgets, and design approaches
• Meet with clients to understand design concepts and requirements
• Collaborate with mechanical, process, electrical, architectural, and civil teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Design structural systems and components for various industrial facilities per AFRY standards and client requirements
• Prepare structural details, analyses, and technical reports
• Mentor and lead junior staff and engage with site visits to gather data and monitor progress
