Job summary

AFRY USA is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer to lead design for new and upgraded structures, guiding teams across disciplines. You will develop concepts, draft plans, and coordinate with clients to ensure successful delivery and conformance with codes.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and accurate documentation across project phases, with opportunities to advance toward PE licensure.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in Structural Engineering.
Knowledge of steel, concrete, timber design and codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
Proficiency with Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, RISA3D, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client and team collaboration.
PE is preferred, or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

Lead small to large projects as project lead engineer, managing quality, budget, and schedule.
Assist in the preparation of proposals and write-ups of project scope and activities.
Establish project scope, structural budgets, and design approach.
Meet with client personnel to assist in preliminary planning and identifying design concepts.
Work with clients and professional counterparts to ensure on-time, within-budget project delivery.
Design structural systems for commercial and industrial facilities; produce drawings and reports.
Visit project sites to collect data and observe construction progress.
