Job summary

AFRY USA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design of industrial projects and mentor engineers and designers. You will oversee analysis, detailing, and construction documentation for multi‑discipline teams, and drive quality and timely delivery on complex assignments.

This role requires a PE license (SE preferred), 10+ years in structural engineering, proficiency with steel, concrete and codes, and strong communication with clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Structural Engineering.
• Licensed as a PE (SE preferred).
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
• Proficiency in Revit, BIM and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for client, contractor and team interactions.
• Strong organizational, analytical and time management abilities.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for projects with minimal oversight, guiding staff on quality, budget and schedule.
• Prepare proposals and write-ups of project scope and activities.
• Define project scope, budgets and design approaches.
• Engage with clients to assist in planning and concept development.
• Ensure timely delivery of designs meeting AFRY standards and client requirements.
