Job summary

AFRY USA seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design on diverse projects and manage a team of engineers and designers. You will drive from concept through construction, ensure code compliance, and deliver high-quality drawings and reports while maintaining budget and schedule.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and engage clients to refine scope and concepts, with an in-office requirement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE); SE preferred.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry; familiar with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC.
• Proficient with Revit and BIM software.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead as the structural engineer for projects, managing staff quality, budget, and schedule.
• Oversee development of structural drawings, specifications, reports, and studies.
• Mentor subordinate staff and lead teams across disciplines.
• Meet with clients to define scope and design concepts.
• Visit project sites to develop client relationships and observe progress.
• Ensure designs comply with AFRY standards and codes; deliver on time and within budget.
• Assist in preparing proposals and marketing materials.
• Lead the structural portion from concept to construction.
