Job summary

AFRY USA is seeking a dynamic Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for industrial projects within the Process Industries Division, Birmingham and Appleton offices. You will drive technical leadership, proposal support, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, 10–15 years of experience, and a PE license is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10-15 years of progressive electrical engineering experience, preferably in industrial and/or process industries environments.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain licensure, is highly desirable.
• Thorough understanding of applicable industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize and prioritize workload to achieve project objectives efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
• Support business development activities by assisting with proposals, scope development, and engineering labor estimates.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to engineering team members as needed.
• Foster and maintain positive working relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, applicable codes, and best practices relevant to the markets served.
• Design and develop electrical systems, equipment, facilities, and components for industrial clients.
• Lead the review and interpretation of customer technical specifications, ensuring solutions are safe, compliant, high-quality, and aligned with project requirements.
• Collaborate with clients to clarify requirements and finalize engineering specifications.
• Coordinate and prioritize electrical engineering activities to support project schedules and meet critical client deadlines.
• Work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
• Travel to client sites as required for project support, field investigations, meetings, and commissioning activities.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
