Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for the Industrial Water sector to lead design and analysis of water treatment facilities. Responsibilities include supervising engineers, coordinating with architects and disciplines, and delivering projects with values over $200M.

The ideal candidate has a PE licensure, a Master’s degree preferred, 11+ years of experience, and proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) as well as AutoCAD/Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; 11+ years of related work experience preferred.
• Active engineering registration/licensure (P.E. or equivalent) required; pre-employment checks may apply.
• Master's degree in structural engineering (ABET-accredited) preferred; design-build experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex structural analyses and prepare drawings for water/wastewater facilities and industrial structures.
• Supervise engineers and technicians; lead larger production teams and manage projects as responsible charge.
• Perform construction-phase duties including site visits, RFIs, and review of submittals.
• Prepare design fee estimates and monitor budget/schedule; ensure adherence to BV Quality Control requirements.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Lead teams on projects with construction values > $200M.
• Provide guidance on standards and engineering codes; support continuous improvement.
