Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional in the Northeast region. You will lead analysis and design for complex projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, cost-effective structures.

The role requires a BE/BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis, a PE license, 10+ years of experience, and proficiency with Navisworks and Bluebeam. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License (PE) or PEng.
• At least 10 years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Experience with US building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
• Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design under supervision.
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques.
• Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem-solving, seeking guidance when needed.
• Possess knowledge of lateral analysis and design (wind/seismic) per code provisions.
• Check own work and assist peers to ensure quality control.
• Manage workload, meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers/drafters and engineers.
• Advance workflows and tools within the structural discipline; embrace new technologies.
