Job summary

Black & Veatch’s Structural Services Team is seeking an experienced, creative, and highly talented Structural Engineer to support Hydropower and hydraulic structures design projects. The candidate will function in the capacity of a senior-level engineer.

The role emphasizes leadership of multidisciplinary teams, collaboration with process and systems engineers, travel up to 20%, and delivering complex designs for powerhouses, dams, and spillways from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in ABET-accredited Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration in at least one state.
• Minimum 11 years of related structural design experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex structural analysis and prepare drawings for Hydropower and Hydraulic Structures.
• Perform site inspections and advise on remediation of aging infra.
• Lead multidisciplinary design projects across teams and offices.
• Supervise engineers and technicians and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Travel up to 20% to client sites as needed.
• Develop and enforce engineering standards and QC requirements.
