Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead hydraulic structures projects for hydropower clients in the Northwest, West Coast, and Southwest. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate multi-discipline design teams, and deliver high-quality PS&E and technical analyses.

The role offers a hybrid work model, opportunities to influence major civil works, and a pathway to advance within BV Operations, with extensive benefits and ESOP ownership for employee-owners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration (P.E.) and ability to support engineer of record (EOR).
• Holds licensure to support BV projects in applicable countries.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to understand infrastructure challenges and develop technical solutions.
• Translate client direction into efficient work plans and coordinate with project teams.
• Create calculations, design documents, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Apply hydropower and hydraulic design standards and codes.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across disciplines.
• Support business development activities for pursuing new projects.
