Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Staff Registered Engineer - Structural to support Hydropower and Hydraulic Structures. The role is staff-level with responsibilities spanning complex structural analysis, site inspections, and multidisciplinary collaboration across projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering or Science from an ABET-accredited Structural or Civil Engineering program.
Professional registration in at least one state.
Minimum 5 years of related structural design experience including steel structures and reinforced concrete.
Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for Hydropower and Hydraulic Structures.
Perform site inspections of existing projects and recommend remediation of aging infrastructure.
Support dam safety assessments under the FERC Part 12d program including risk analysis and structural stability assessments.
Collaborate with process and systems engineers on multi-disciplinary design projects.
Supervise Structural Engineers and Technicians in drawing packages, calculations, and specifications.
Occasional travel to client sites up to 20% of time.
Support project administration tasks and QA requirements.
Provide guidance on design guides, standards, codes, and B&V policies.
Identify training needs and drive continuous improvement.
