Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Structural Engineer – Advanced Power Generation Design in Atlanta to lead complex structural analysis for hydropower facilities, including powerhouses and dams.

You will supervise engineers, conduct dam safety evaluations, and coordinate with process and systems engineers while traveling up to 20% for project work. A senior engineering background and EOR licensure support are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 11+ years of related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements where applicable for BV projects.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software and familiarity with code provisions (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, UFC) as part of project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex structural analysis, calculations, and sketches for Hydropower and Hydraulic Structures.
• Supervise engineers and technicians across US and overseas offices; manage production teams.
• Travel up to 20% to client sites and coordinate multi-disciplinary design projects.

Education

Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program
