Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional to join our design team. You will perform significant structural analysis and design, collaborate with the Lead and other disciplines, and help develop design concepts from paper to model.

You will need a solid foundation in structural engineering, knowledge of US codes, and be prepared for leadership responsibilities. You may serve as Lead Structural Engineer for medium projects or Sub-Lead on larger efforts, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design with minimal supervision.
• Plan and conduct independent evaluations and adaptations of engineering techniques.
• Apply wind and seismic provisions per building code requirements.
• Review own work and mentor junior staff; check calculations.
• Lead small teams or act as Sub-Lead on larger projects.
• Develop leadership skills and advance workflows within the discipline.
