Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional to join our design team. You will perform structural analysis and design for complex projects, collaborating with lead engineers and other disciplines.

Strong communication, leadership, and a solid grounding in US codes are essential as you help develop concepts and deliver reliable, safe structures. You may lead medium projects or act as a sub-lead on larger programs, with opportunities for growth in a hybrid U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Structural engineering.
• Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities.
• Experience leading small teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design with minimal supervision.
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques.
• Exercise sound engineering judgement and consult with peers when needed.
• Possess strong knowledge of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic) per building codes.
• Check your own work and review peers' work for quality control.
• Take ownership of workload, meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers/drafters and junior engineers.
