Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Structural Engineer III to lead design and analysis of ground support equipment for test facilities. You will oversee tooling, fixture structures, and test stands, applying rigorous FEA and hand-calcs for steel constructions.

You will mentor junior engineers, liaise with external partners, and ensure robust design practices per ASME Y14.5 while complying with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in structural, civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering (or similar).
• 5+ years of relevant design, analysis, and construction experience with large structural systems.
• Experience leading structural and mechanical analysis using FEA tools (STAAD/ANSYS).
• Experience with bolted and welded connections, concrete foundations, and anchors.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Creo) and interpreting ASME Y14.5 standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop structural design solutions for complex ground systems and GSE.
• Own lifecycle design and management of test stand tooling from concept to production.
• Provide FEA/calculations and review analyses for structural components.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with external partners across projects.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and drive cross-functional resolutions.
