Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) team in the United States. The role covers detailed structural analysis across development and production programs, using classical and finite element methods, with a focus on high-quality, auditable work products.

You will lead technical teams, develop analyses scope, and present results to internal and external customers, ensuring adherence to cost and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM required; 8+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience running complex structural analysis with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance.
• Analyze test data to validate models and provide mechanical loads and environments.
• Lead peer reviews and present results to stakeholders and customers.
• Travel to test sites as needed and mentor junior engineers.
