Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer in Tucson to perform detailed structural analyses across development and production programs. You will generate test plans, analyze data, and produce archival reports while leading technical reviews and mentoring analysts.

The role requires understanding of finite element methods, familiarity with PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS, and ability to travel to test sites. DoD security clearance (Secret) and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of experience
• Experience running complex structural analysis with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS or equivalent
• Ability to obtain a US government security clearance; US citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments
• Work with limited oversight on complex problems to provide answers under cost and schedule constraints
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring technical accuracy of work
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers
• Generate detailed archival technical reports
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions
• Act as a technical leader and lead teams to meet program milestones
