Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test Department. You will perform detailed structural analysis across development and production programs, leveraging FE tools and classical methods to deliver robust solutions.

This role requires leadership of engineering teams, peer reviews, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Occasional travel to test sites will be expected, as will ensuring compliance with DoD security requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred for more senior roles.
• Experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, or ANSYS or equivalent FE software.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses across program phases.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware to requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate models and derive loads.
• Lead peer reviews and coordinate technical reviews.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Travel to test sites as required.
