RTX's Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department seeks a Principal Structural Engineer in Tucson, AZ. You will perform detailed structural analyses across development and production, using FEA tools and classic methods, to ensure robust designs for complex weapon-system programs.

You will lead technical reviews, develop test plans, analyze results, and coordinate with internal and external customers, travel to test sites as required, and mentor teams to meet program milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience; Master’s is equal to 2 years or Ph.D. equal to 5 years.
• Experience running complex structural analysis with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS or equivalent software.
• Dynamic, Static, Non-linear, Transient analyses experience.
• Experience applying mechanical principles to solve classical structural analysis problems.
• Experience leading teams and collaborating within a project environment.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsabilités

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and generate mechanical loads and environments.
• Lead technical peer reviews and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions.
• Act as a technical leader and help develop MA&T department processes and tools.
