Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior subject matter expert in our Data Center team to lead structural engineering across a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You will shape technical direction and ensure solutions meet performance and constructability standards.

This role is client- and contractor-facing, requiring clear communication across diverse teams, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-quality design and delivery within the Design-Build approach.

Qualifications

• Identify complex challenges, solve problems, and guide staff on best practices.
• Understand large contracts, manage change orders, and defend engineering.
• Speak to executives about subjects and demonstrate material knowledge.
• Bachelor in Civil/Structural Engineering; 15+ years in structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer; ability to obtain registration in other states.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across data center projects.
• Mentor structural leads; coordinate with clients and upper management.
• Shape project execution, influence design strategy and delivery.
• Provide technical governance for schedules and interdisciplinary coordination.
