Job summary

Jacobs seeks a senior subject matter expert to lead structural engineering for data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You will guide technical direction, ensure design meets performance, constructability, and client expectations, and collaborate across teams.

This role is heavily client- and contractor-facing; you will mentor junior staff, coordinate with upper management, and help define delivery strategies under Jacobs' Design‑Build approach. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years in professional structural engineering.
• PE license; can become licensed in additional states.
• CAD: AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, S3D.
• Structural analysis: RISA, RamSS, STAAD.
• Codes: ACI, AISC, ASCE 7.
• MS Office and MS Teams proficiency.
• Travel to client sites 10–40%.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering for data center projects, including new builds and retrofits.
• Set technical direction to meet performance and constructability standards.
• Mentor structural leads and engage with clients and management as needed.
• Coordinate with structural teams and oversee calculations and modeling.
• Provide quality reviews and governance for schedules and design docs.
