Job summary
Jacobs is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert for our Data Center team to lead structural engineering across a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You will drive technical direction, mentor staff, and ensure design solutions meet high performance and constructability standards.
The role is heavily client- and contractor-facing, with travel and cross-team collaboration. You will guide project execution, influence design strategy, and shape the next generation
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer with ability to become registered in additional states.
- Proficiency with CAD and structural analysis software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, S3D, RISA, RamSS or STAAD).
- Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7 and related design codes.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality reviews of complex projects.
- Lead complex structural analyses and select robust methods.
- Develop and validate advanced structural models and establish standards.
- Oversee calculations for member design and foundations; manage schedules.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary work and mentor team members.
